Two Ideas for RACK: Snowflakes for Sandy Hook and Holiday Cards

Thank you so much to the lovely ladies at 3 Teacher Chicks who introduced me to RACK (Random Acts of Classroom Kindness).  My students and I have had lots of fun doing kind projects for people around the school.

If you're looking for some last week before the break RACK activities here are two fun ones.
The Sandy Hook PTA is collecting snowflakes to welcome students back to school.  What a fun idea, and something students can do to contribute in a positive way to this community.  Check out the link for details and the address.  Martha Stewart has a great step by step set of instructions that can help students create one of those fancy 6 point snowflakes.

Dalton Dingus, a sweetie with cystic fibrosis, is trying to collect 100,000 holiday cards to break the Guinness World Record.  Here is the link to the news story with the address.
